Asthma is a chronic disease which effects the
airways (air is carried to and from the lungs). When the lungs
get inflamed, the airway gets narrower and less air is able to
travel through the passage ways. This is what causes the tightening
of the chest, coughing, and wheezing. An asthma attack is when
your lungs are not getting enough air to breathe. The symptoms
include: trouble breathing, wheezing, coughing, chest pain and
chest tightness.
