ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is an illness that becomes apparent in some children in childhood. It is thought to affect between 3 and 5% of the school age population. In the United States there is an estimated 2 million children diagnosed with ADHD. The symptoms of ADHD are inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. It affects the way children think, feel and act. ADHD children find it difficult to concentrate or stay still and their performance at school tends to be poor. It is more common in boys. Some parents have found diet helpful in controlling the behavior of their children with ADHD.
